Create the front page of a newspaper using one of the following options:

1) Front-page report detailing the disappearance of the evacuee schoolboys.

2) Front-page report on the outbreak of hostilities contributing to evacuation of school children by plane

3. Front-page story of the trial of those responsible for the deaths of Piggy and Simon

As reporters, students should pretend they have conducted four or five interviews with the surviving boys, the adult who rescued them, their parents, teachers, and child psychology experts as well as the man on the street. They should prepare statements made by “interviewees.” Overall they should organize their story or video to cover the “five Ws and H”—Who? What? Where? When? Why? and How?

Be sure to observe newspaper conventions such as appropriate layout, use of pun/alliteration in headlines, byline, dateline, photos etc.
