Metaphor

Page history last edited by Ricko 2 yrs ago

Metaphor- A figure of speech in which a word or phrase is applied to an object or action to which it is not normally applied.

Example from the text-

“He pulled distastefully at his shirt” (line 13, page 135). Normally we associate something being distasteful with food, as against with how our shirt is sitting.

Metaphor: a figure of speech in which a term or phrase is applied to something to which it is not literally applicable in order to suggest a resemblance, as in “A mighty fortress is our God.”
